Honor one of the most influential public intellectuals in modern U.S. history with the Wiliam F Buckley, ir, Forever@ stamp fromthe U.S. Postal Service. A leading voice in the conservative movement of the mid-20th century, Buckley played a defining role inshaping American political thought.
The stamp design features a black-and-white portrait of Buckley created by atist Dale Stephanos. Using graphite and charcoal onhot-press watercolor paper, Stephanos created the atwork by hand before refining the details digitally. He based the portrait on aphotograph taken by Steve Schapiro in the 1960s. Art director Greg Breeding designed the stamp.
The Wiliam F. Buckley, Jr, stamp is being issued as a Forever@ stamp. This Forever stamp will always be equal in value to thecurrent First-Class Mail® one-ounce price.
